My name is Arturo De Bourbon. I am a former model, make-up artist, fashion and retail executive with more than 18 years of experience in the fashion industry. I was lucky to grow up with my parents and grandparents who always took pride in their personal appearances. As I was growing up, I always had a keen fashion sense and a knack for assisting others. My maternal grandmother instilled in me a respect for a healthy self-image. My grandmother would always say, "Mind what you say and wear and people will mind you". This mentally always stuck with me.
Growing up, it was not about being dressed in designer or couture clothing (although that is fine). It was more about looking appropriate for every occasion and circumstance. For example, I would not wear and/or develop the same wardrobe for a career interview that I would for school or everyday wear.
It is also important to note that although I deal with famous designers, it is not always important to exclusively wardrobe in designer or couture clothing. Growing up, money was tight; however, my parents used the little resources they had to ensure that we were all well-dressed and comfortable. I deal with clients and organizations within many different demographics and budgets. I firmly believe that an individual does not have to spend a fortune to always look great. As long as an individual and/or organization has the proper strategies and tools to look their very best; that is all that matters.
A person’s individual style should not be a carbon copy of someone else’s or what the fashion industry dictates. Fashion and image is a representation of an individual’s preferences and style and is distinct to each individual. The key to demonstrating a strong personal style and image is to ensure that your personal style and image are represented in the best possible light. This is done by ensuring that proper fit, color, fabric choices, make-up, and hair color, all compliment an individual’s style and image. Done effectively, this can build upon on an individual’s strengths and diminish or minimize an individual’s flaws.
I also have experience in advanced designers, couture, entertainment and corporate consulting. My organization and I have extensive knowledge in developing, launching and managing new product lines. I have the ability to thoroughly assess information and make sound business decisions while possessing strong time management and superior multi-tasking skills. I am a consultant who is a strategic thinker with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; while coaching and helping others to develop the same skills. I have been recognized as an effective leader who consistently delivers solid results. I have managed many multi-million dollar corporations and have a proven record of success meeting and exceeding projections.
My goal is to counsel both individual and corporate clients on appearance, behavior and communication skills. To help achieve specific goals with authenticity, credibility and confidence.
